They Said, ‘Don’t Worry, It’s Guaranteed” Then Everything Went Wrong
I never imagined that hiring a moving company could turn into one of the most stressful, expensive, and emotionally draining experiences of my life.
I’m sharing my story because I don’t want anyone else to feel the panic, helplessness, and anger that I felt dealing with Interstate Moving & Relocation Group and their chosen carrier, Panthers Moving & Storage Inc.
My move was from Austin, Texas, to Denver, Colorado, a standard long-distance relocation from a 2-bedroom apartment. From the very beginning, I tried to do everything right.
I researched movers, asked questions, and made it clear that everything was perfect. I was relocating for work, had already arranged temporary housing, and could not afford delays.
Interstate Moving & Relocation Group provided me with a quote of $3,200, and after multiple calls and emails, they strongly pushed an “expedited delivery option”, assuring me repeatedly that my belongings would be delivered within a guaranteed window.
I was told, “If you choose expedited delivery, your shipment is prioritized. You won’t be waiting weeks like other customers.”
That promise is what convinced me.
I paid hundreds of extra dollars for expedited service and signed a legally binding Bill of Lading and service agreement via DocuSign, which clearly outlined the delivery window, pricing, and services.
The agreement number, the terms, everything was in writing. I saved every document because something already felt off with how aggressively they were selling.
On February 18, 2025, Panthers Moving & Storage arrived to load my belongings. The movers were rushed and dismissive. One of them casually said, “We’ve got a tight schedule today,” while throwing boxes onto the truck without care. I watched my furniture being wrapped poorly, if at all. When I questioned it, I was told, “That’s how we do it; it'll be fine."
At that point, my entire life was on that truck. I had no leverage anymore.
Days passed. Then more days.
The delivery window promised under expedited service came and went, and no one contacted me.
The day before my guaranteed delivery deadline, I finally received a message informing me that my shipment would be delayed because the driver had multiple other stops. I was stunned. The whole reason I paid for expedited delivery was to avoid exactly this.
When I called to question it, I was met with indifference. One representative said, “That’s just how interstate moves work.”
I responded, “Then why did you sell me expedited delivery and put it in the contract?”
That’s when the gaslighting started.
I was told, “You don’t actually have a guaranteed delivery contract.”
I remember sitting there, heart racing, staring at the signed Bill of Lading on my screen. I said, “I’m looking at the document right now. It clearly states expedited delivery.”
Their tone shifted immediately. Suddenly, I was treated like I was being difficult or "confused." Another rep said, “You might be misunderstanding the wording.”
I wasn’t misunderstanding anything.
They never contacted me proactively. They never offered alternatives. Nothing, until I pushed relentlessly, sent emails, quoted agreement numbers, and demanded answers.
Only after significant pressure did they agree to refund the expedited delivery fee, quietly and without acknowledgment that they had violated the contract. Not once did anyone say, “We’re sorry we failed to deliver what you paid for.”
When my shipment finally arrived, well outside the expedited window, the nightmare continued.
Several items were damaged. Furniture was scratched. Boxes were crushed. Fragile items that were clearly labeled had been mishandled. When I pointed this out, the movers shrugged. One of them said, “You’ll have to file a claim.”
Customer service afterward was just as awful. Calls went unanswered. I was treated like I was overreacting, even though I had documentation for everything.
The entire experience was intentional. Say one thing to get your money. Do another once your belongings are being held hostage hundreds of miles away. Then exhaust the customer until they give up.
I spent nearly $4,900 total, far more than the original quote.
This was not just incompetence; it felt like a calculated moving scam.
I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone.

Warning to Other Customers
If you’re considering Panthers Moving & Storage Inc, be extremely cautious. This company accepted payment for expedited delivery, ignored a signed Bill of Lading, delayed the shipment with multiple stops, and only issued a refund after heavy pressure. Once your belongings are on their truck, you lose leverage. Get everything in writing, verify the carrier—not just the broker—and be prepared for delays, damage, and denial of responsibility.
